Lots and Lots of Code
This week I focused some of my time on examining the source code for both the Arublock and Ardublockly. My main trouble with both of the programs' code was trying to understand what the importance of each file was and how I could possibly alter it to fit the project's goals.
I have also downloaded Zotero in order to organize the literature I read and the notes I associate with them. One of the readings this week was To Block or not to Block, That is the Question: Students’ Perceptions of Blocks-based Programming. Similarly to the paper talked about in last week's post, block programming proved to increase students' interest and performance in computer science classes.
I also worked on a website for my team to showcase the project and everyone involved in the research.
Next Up
I am still working on understanding the large code base as a whole and will continue to do so over the next week.
See ya next week!
