Beagle Bone

This week I have been using a YouTube video tutorial on connecting to the BeagleBone via ethernet. The purpose of connecting via ethernet was to "remotely login" to the BeagleBone. This would allow the device to not be connected to my laptop. The command that is used to find the ethernet ip address is "ifconfig". The expected output should be like the following image:

When I ran the command I got the following:

I put my Google cap on and started searching for someone else that has had this problem and nothing turned up.
